XIII European Congress on Catalysis 2017

The Organizing Committee cordially invites you to attend the 13th European Congress on Catalysis (EUROPACAT 2017) that will be held from August 27 to 31, 2017 in Florence, Italy. EUROPACAT 2017, with the theme of “A bridge to the future”, will feature the crucial roles of catalysis science and technology in enabling our sustainable future. The meeting, the main biannual event for catalysis in Europe and one of the main worldwide, will offer both the state-of-the-art on catalysis research and, more importantly, a perspective of new trends and opportunities for catalysis in the next decades. The congress will serve as a platform to exchange new ideas and discuss the advances in all areas of catalysis. The congress is built around four pillars: science, catalysis community, relations with companies and society.
The conference will be organized in four parallel sessions, the first three dedicated to discuss, in an integrated view, five grand-challenges for catalysis. The fourth parallel session will be partially dedicated to an “industrial catalysis” session, with contributions either from companies or with a prevailing industrial character. The 4th parallel session will be also dedicated to poster symposia, for thematic discussion and short oral presentations on new advanced topics.

The choice of the venue (Florence, a city of art and cultural heritage) was selected to strengthen the sense of catalysis community and attract participation with families. The congress centre is located within walking distance from the city centre and many hotels and B&B, accessible to all budgets, are available at 5-10 min walking distance. This will favor to see the conference as an event capable of strengthening the sense of community. Inside the conference centre area, there are many places to sit together with friends and colleagues to discuss about science and plan collaborations and project proposals.

The conference is organized by ERIC aisbl (European Research Institute of Catalysis) and the Italian Group of Catalysis of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI), in collaboration with the Division of Industrial Chemistry of SCI and the University Consortium on Science and Technology of Materials (INSTM). The conference is thus the result of a joint effort between the Italian catalysis community and the competences and expertise of ERIC community around Europe. Their joint effort will promote the scientific excellence and appealing character of the conference, to create an extraordinary event for all catalysis community.

The EUROPACAT 2017 Chairpersons
Gabriele CENTI (ERIC aisbl), Rinaldo PSARO (GIC/SCI), Giorgio STRUKUL (DCI/SCI) and Siglinda PERATHONER (INSTM.
